The Month of Fast

For all Muslims across the globe the month of Fast has dawned upon us. It is during this month where we abstain from food, drink, sex or anything that enters the body from sunrise to sunset.

This month is bestowed upon us as a blessing. Throughout the year we consume food and luxuries that cause all sorts of diseases, illness and complaints or ailments that harm our bodies. During this month we give our stomach a chance to get a well deserved rest and to get rid from all harmful substances. It serves as a detox for our body.

This month is a reminder of those less for fortunate. We feel their hunger and are reminded to always give to those in need. We are reminded to not over eat and never to waste. We are encouraged to eat and drink in moderation.

This month not only reminds us of hunger but how we should behave as human beings. We should not show hatred, jealousy, selfishness, hypocrisy or other wicked qualities. We should instead adorn ourselves with good qualities.

  1. Very good topic as most people do not understand the reason behind the month of Ramadaan. Your blog is a reminder to everyone, regardless of religion, that we should be thankful for what we have and try to strive to be a better person.
