For things to change, I must change

Far too often we like to blame others for our actions. We like to complain and whine about everything and anything we are not satisfied with. We blame the government, , friends, the weather, even the animals just because things are not going our way.

We need to stop pointing fingers at others and start looking at ourselves. We need to look at things from a different perspective when we are not satisfied with something. How can we expect the world to change when we do not want to change? A good example is using South Africa. We all complain about the increase in its crime rate, but what we do not realise that we too are contributing to this statistic. How many of us purchase pirate copied DVD’s or CD’s? This is also a crime and we are aware of it, but yet we still do it.

So the next time you want to complain or whine about something that is not to your satisfaction. Rather ask yourself, ‘how can I contribute to make this better’ and start taking action.

  1. Brilliant topic! It is short and to the point but yet you were still able to get the main points across.
We definitley need to start taking resposibility for our own action and contribute to a better society.

  2. This is so true and change is so hard, but things will not change if we do not think differently. As individuals it is always easier to shift blame, but we need to take responsibility.
