Knowledge is power

After 3 years of studying the National Diploma Public Relations Management (PR) students graduated on Saturday, 17 April 2010 at 14h00.

Excitement filled us as the day finally arrived. We received our gowns and they were hideous, huge and drowned most of us. They sat like black bags on us. But, that was not the highlight. One of the highlights for most of us was seeing our fellow classmates after what feels like a decade.

The other highlight was when our names were announced. Yes, this was when we stepped on the stage (worried nothing stupid would happen to us that would cause us huge embarrassment) and feeling like we accomplished something. Well, we did accomplish something. We accomplished studying 3 years of PR. Something not everyone can say.

Now that we gained this knowledge, we need to implement it. We all know that knowledge is power, but knowledge only becomes power when we implement it. Someone can have all the knowledge in the world but if he does not implement it or take action upon what he learnt then that knowledge is useless.

As PR graduates the time has come for us to put action to what we have learnt and rise in our profession be the best PRP’s we can be.

  3. Our ammunition is our knowledge. It is the power that we have to make that difference as public relations people.
